This year, ByteDance and ZTE Nubia will jointly roll out several models of the "Doubao AI Agent Smartphone," the inaugural AI agent smartphone. Among these, one model is slated to make its debut at the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference, with a total planned inventory of roughly 200,000 units and an initial batch not exceeding 100,000 units. When approached for verification, ZTE did not provide an immediate response. Previously, the first-generation Doubao smartphone (the Nubia M153 technical preview version), launched on December 1, 2025, was an engineering prototype with an initial inventory of approximately 30,000 units. These units were not replenished once sold out. On the secondary market, prices for this model soared to 7,999 yuan, significantly surpassing its official price of 3,499 yuan. According to supply chain sources, the initial inventory plan for this generation was considerably higher than that of the previous one. However, due to escalating costs of upstream components, the inventory has been revised down from the original 300,000 units to around 200,000 units.
