Recently, a Nintendo Switch 2 screen module bearing a new model number has surfaced and attracted considerable attention on a domestic second-hand trading platform. The module's specifications deviate markedly from those of components currently in mass production, indicating that Nintendo may be gearing up for a redesign of the Switch 2. According to Nintendo Patents Watch, this screen module made its appearance on the second-hand platform in late June 2026. Its circuitry, connectors, and cable arrangements all exhibit differences from the Innolux displays that have been in use since the launch in June 2025. The model identifier 'LS079T1SX10P' does not align with any currently recognized components. Based on Sharp's established product naming conventions, it is likely to correspond to a 7.9-inch LTPS LCD panel with a 1080p resolution. Recent official updates from Sharp reveal a reduction in the operating loss of its display device division, along with plans to boost panel sales at the Hakusan plant for both mobile and industrial applications. Industry insiders are of the opinion that this move is in line with the trend of expanding the supply of panels for gaming consoles. Nevertheless, Nintendo has not yet issued a response to these rumors, and the definitive form of the new Switch 2 model is still subject to verification through future developments.
