Microsoft has recently rolled out the ‘Shared Audio’ feature for Windows 11. Leveraging Bluetooth LE Audio technology, this new feature enables two pairs of headphones, earbuds, or hearing aids to connect to the same computer at once and share in listening to the audio stream. The feature made its debut in preview form back in November 2025. Initially, it was only available on a select range of Copilot+ PC devices outfitted with Qualcomm Snapdragon X processors, with the intention of extending its availability to some devices powered by second-generation Intel Core Ultra processors down the line.
In March 2026, Microsoft enhanced the feature. Now, users have the ability to adjust the volume independently for each connected device. A dedicated status indicator has also been introduced in the system tray for easy monitoring. Moreover, the list of compatible devices has been expanded to encompass headphones like the Samsung Galaxy Buds 4 series and Sony WF-1000XM6. Users can activate this feature by simply clicking the ‘Shared Audio’ button located in the system’s ‘Quick Settings’.
