Lately, a number of users of HP's premium laptops have encountered problems, including the inability to boot up as usual, fans running at uncontrollably high speeds, and black screen crashes in Windows 11, all occurring after they installed particular BIOS firmware updates. The laptop models affected encompass the ZBook Ultra G1a, EliteBook XG1a, and the 7th-generation Ryzen variant of the Zhan 66, to name a few. The issues are evident when the system freezes at the HP Logo screen, the fans exhibit abnormal start-stop patterns or keep running at high speeds continuously, and in some severe cases, the devices are rendered completely inoperable, or "bricked." HP has been notified of these issues and has initiated an investigation, urging users to reach out to their after-sales support team. Some users have successfully fixed their devices by reflashing the BIOS or executing a network downgrade.
