After the implementation of the EU's Digital Markets Act (DMA), which requires mobile device users to actively choose their default browser, Mozilla reports a sustained increase in Firefox's user base in Europe. Through the browser choice screen, approximately 6 million users have switched from Safari on iPhones or Chrome on Android devices to Firefox. Since the introduction of the browser choice feature on iOS and Android in 2024, Firefox's daily active users in Germany and France have increased by 99% and 111%, respectively. Mozilla believes that a well-designed and fully implemented browser choice screen is an effective tool for enhancing market competitiveness.
