In the iOS 26.5 update rolled out to European users, Apple has opened up multiple features for third-party wearables, such as one-tap proximity pairing similar to AirPods, iPhone notification forwarding and interaction, as well as real-time activity synchronization. Previously, these features were exclusive to Apple Watch and AirPods. This move aims to comply with the EU's Digital Markets Act, allowing iPhone users who pair with non-Apple wearables to enjoy an experience closer to that of Apple's native ecosystem.
