On May 8, a blogger identifying themselves as a "supply chain group leader" posted a video capturing a meeting with Wang Ziru. During this encounter, Wang Ziru disclosed his foray into the smart ring industry, unveiling two products: a plastic Oura ring model, priced at over 2,000 yuan, and an industrial ceramic smart ring bearing his own brand name, tagged at 4,000 yuan. He announced that the project would commence mass production by the end of May, with the ambition of becoming the world's second-largest brand in this category. Wang Ziru highlighted the unique selling points of his products, including built-in motors, recording capabilities, high-precision sensor chips, and vibration feedback, which cater specifically to business use cases. Regarding market strategy, he outlined plans to cultivate the brand domestically through content creation and e-commerce platforms, while emphasizing cost-effectiveness in international markets. He also pointed out that the current smart ring market is still in its infancy, akin to the AR glasses market three years prior, and stressed the importance of seizing the initiative to enter this emerging field. However, the blogger stopped short of confirming any investment intentions, and netizens largely expressed skepticism about the product's competitiveness. Many argued that the functions of smart rings could be easily replicated by smartphones or smartwatches, and deemed the 4,000 yuan price point excessive.
