The US Federal Supreme Court rejected Apple's emergency request on Wednesday local time, upholding a lower court's ruling that found Apple in 'contempt of court.' This decision stems from an antitrust lawsuit filed by Epic Games, in which the court previously ordered Apple to allow developers to direct users to external payment methods within apps. However, Apple failed to comply, continuing to maintain its revenue through anti-competitive practices. Despite Apple's appeal, developers will be able to attempt to direct users to external payment channels for at least two months without paying commissions to Apple, pending the outcome of the appeal.
