Alipay has officially declared that users in various cities, such as Shanghai and Nanjing, who have previously utilized NFC transit cards through Apple Wallet, will start receiving gradual upgrade notifications. These notifications will enable them to effortlessly upgrade their NFC cards with a single tap directly within the Apple Wallet app. Following the upgrade, users will have the option to leverage Alipay's convenient "pay-as-you-go" or "pay-later" functionalities, thereby eliminating the necessity for manual pre-recharges. On April 14, Alipay made an announcement stating that Apple Wallet now facilitates the opening of NFC transit cards in numerous cities, including Beijing and Shanghai, by utilizing Alipay. Last night, Alipay further revealed that iPhone users in Shenzhen can also directly open NFC transit cards in Apple Wallet through Alipay.
