According to predictions, the iPhone Fold is expected to sell between 6 and 7 million units in its first year, accounting for approximately 22% of the global foldable smartphone market. Despite its price tag of around $2,500, which is higher than competing products, Apple is still expected to lead the market. The model is anticipated to be released simultaneously with the iPhone 18 Pro series in September 2026 and officially go on sale in October, although there are also reports that the project may be postponed until 2027. Its mass production plan may be delayed by one to two months due to setbacks in the engineering validation testing phase, and even if released as scheduled, initial supply will be limited. Global foldable smartphone shipments are expected to reach approximately 20.2 million units in 2025, and with Apple entering the market, shipments are projected to increase to 30.5 million units in 2026, representing a year-on-year growth of approximately 50%.
