Media sources indicate that Honor is currently engaged in negotiations with ByteDance to explore a collaborative venture centered around the 'Doubao Phone'. Insiders familiar with the matter have disclosed that ByteDance's initial outreach for this project was directed towards Honor, prior to its partnership with ZTE that resulted in the launch of the first-generation Doubao Phone. Nonetheless, Honor exercised caution during those preliminary discussions, expressing concerns over the potential risks associated with such an in-depth, system-level collaboration. They recognized that while the Doubao Phone, as a pioneering engineering device, could afford to experiment with more daring technological innovations, the vast user base of Honor meant that any stability, compatibility, or security issues with the new service could potentially lead to widespread malfunctions and a surge in user dissatisfaction. Consequently, Honor deemed the risks involved to be challenging to manage effectively.
