Based on the most recent projected figures from market research firm IDC, Apple experienced a 9% year-on-year increase in Mac shipments during the first quarter of 2026. This performance notably eclipsed the modest 2.5% growth rate observed in the global PC market over the same timeframe. IDC attributes this remarkable growth primarily to the launch of the M5 chip-powered MacBook Pro by Apple at the close of the previous year. Furthermore, Apple has recently refreshed its MacBook Air and premium MacBook Pro lineups. However, given the delayed market introduction of these new models, their influence on the shipment figures for the first quarter of 2026 remained relatively insignificant.
