Amazon has announced that it will discontinue technical support for Kindle devices released in 2012 and earlier starting from May 20, 2026. By that time, these devices will no longer be able to access the Kindle Store, purchase, borrow, or download new content, and will only be able to read previously downloaded content. Affected devices include the original Kindle (1st and 2nd generations), Kindle DX and DX Graphite, Kindle Keyboard, Kindle 4/5, Kindle Touch, and the first-generation Kindle Paperwhite.
