Wuhan has recently embraced the inaugural implementation of the 'UAV Virtual Cockpit' technology within China's power sector. This cutting-edge system boasts real-time control capabilities and encompasses 119 outdoor substations across Wuhan, covering an expansive operational territory exceeding 8,000 square kilometers. Nestled within the Intelligent Control Center of the Substation Operation and Maintenance Branch at State Grid Wuhan Power Supply Company, the 'Virtual Cockpit' empowers operators to remotely maneuver drones for precise tasks within a 40-kilometer radius.

In stark contrast to the bygone era of drones adhering strictly to predetermined routes, the advent of remote operation liberates drones from rigid flight trajectories, ushering in an era of 'fly-and-inspect' agility. This transformation markedly elevates the precision and adaptability of equipment inspections, while also accelerating response times to unforeseen incidents.
