On March 22, 2026, LG Display announced the mass production of the world's first notebook LCD panel featuring Oxide 1Hz technology. This panel supports a variable refresh rate of 1-120Hz, allowing for intelligent adjustment based on screen content: it drops to 1Hz for static images to reduce power consumption and rises to 120Hz for dynamic content to ensure smoothness. Compared to existing models, this technology can extend battery life by over 48%. LG Display will supply this panel to Dell for use in its flagship XPS series and plans to mass-produce OLED panels supporting 1Hz in 2027.
