Apple has announced that it will host the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC26) from June 9 to 12, 2026. According to a roundup of leaks by tech media, the event will feature numerous highlights. On the software front, iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 will forego major visual design overhauls, instead focusing on refining functionality and enhancing performance. This move is expected to extend battery life on older iPhone models, and iOS 27 may support side-by-side multitasking for apps. The newly upgraded Siri stands out as a major attraction, with Apple planning to launch a Siri chatbot based on Google's Gemini as the foundational model and replace CoreML with the CoreAI framework. macOS 27 will cease support for Intel-based Mac computers and Time Capsule hardware backups, while retaining the Rosetta 2 translation functionality. In terms of hardware, Apple may unveil new Mac mini and Mac Studio models equipped with M5 Pro and M5 Max chips. The AI performance of the M5 chip will see a 3.5-fold improvement, with CPU and GPU performance also enhanced compared to the M4 series. Solid-state drive read speeds are expected to reach 14.5GB/s, and new support for Wi-Fi 7 will be added.
