ByteDance’s XR brand, PICO, has declared that its account system will be seamlessly integrated with the Doubao Pass account service on April 21, 2026. From April 22 onwards, PICO accounts will be systematically upgraded to Doubao Pass accounts, with the goal of offering users a streamlined, unified login experience. Post-upgrade, accounts will be interoperable across products and services that recognize Doubao Pass credentials. This integration will employ mobile phone numbers as a singular identifier, encompassing fundamental user details such as nicknames and avatars. The upgrade is applicable to PICO accounts of non-enterprise users within mainland China. Users have the option to modify their linked mobile phone numbers prior to April 21. For those who already possess a Doubao account, it is advisable to link it to the same mobile number. Once the integration is complete, altering the linked mobile number to one already associated with a Doubao account will not be possible. Users who prefer not to upgrade can request account cancellation before April 20. During the upgrade process, certain functions may experience limitations. Following the integration, the migration of some data will necessitate time, and both the login page and agreement content will be updated concurrently.
