Mobile phones released in recent years are typically equipped with built-in AI assistants, providing generative AI capabilities. Yet, the actual usefulness of these features for the average consumer remains debatable. According to a recent survey conducted by Android Authority, over a quarter of the more than six thousand participants reported that they have never utilized these AI functions. Approximately 40.06% of respondents leverage AI for summarization and search tasks, 19.89% employ AI to compose or revise content, and 13.78% use AI for image analysis or object and text recognition. Nevertheless, 26% of netizens completely overlook these AI services, asserting that mobile phones can operate perfectly well without AI. They are more keen on hardware enhancements, such as camera sensors and battery capacity.
