Apple’s freshly launched MacBook Neo has been awarded the title of the most repair-friendly laptop by iFixit since 2014. Over the past ten years, Apple’s relentless pursuit of slimmer designs has made its products increasingly challenging to repair. Nevertheless, the MacBook Neo has undergone several pivotal design modifications. For instance, it now employs screws to fasten the battery and keyboard, and simplifies the replacement of components such as the camera and fingerprint sensor. Upon disassembly, it becomes evident that the MacBook Neo’s battery is held in place by 18 screws, rendering glue unnecessary. Users can effortlessly remove the bottom cover by hand, and parts like the speakers and USB-C ports are also designed for easy removal. Although the storage and memory are still soldered onto the motherboard, the overall repairability has seen a notable improvement, garnering a score of 6 out of 10 from iFixit.
