The commencement ceremony for the 2026 National Home Appliances, Digital, and Smart Products Consumption Promotion Season took place in Shanghai. Video addresses were delivered by Sheng Qiuping, the Vice Minister of the Ministry of Commerce, and Lu Shan, the Vice Mayor of Shanghai. Taking advantage of the policy that encourages trading in old consumer goods for new ones, the Ministry of Commerce has arranged a series of activities to enhance its beneficial impacts. With Shanghai serving as the primary host city and in partnership with Liaoning, Guangdong, and Sichuan provinces, the event embraced a strategic approach of "leading in the East, West, North, and South, and extending nationwide." This approach aims to foster collaboration among all stakeholders and create a conducive environment for the effective implementation of the policy.
