Renowned Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has made predictions regarding the shipment volume, second-generation model, and OLED screen variants of Apple's MacBook Neo. The MacBook Neo is expected to commence small-scale production by the end of December 2025, with an estimated shipment volume of 4.5 to 5 million units in 2026, including approximately 2 to 2.5 million units in the first half of the year. Regarding the Neo 2, Kuo believes it may not adopt a touch panel. Quanta is currently the exclusive assembler for the Neo, while Foxconn is poised to become the second supplier, and Luxshare is also actively vying for the introduction of new products for the Neo 2. The shipment volume of the Neo is expected to grow steadily quarter by quarter, benefiting from demand during the back-to-school season and holiday peak, as well as rising memory costs among competitors. Kuo also reiterated that the MacBook Pro will undergo a major upgrade in late 2026 or early 2027, featuring a touch-enabled OLED panel, while the MacBook Air is expected to be equipped with an OLED panel in 2028 or 2029. He predicts that MacBook shipments will reach approximately 25 million units in 2026, representing a year-on-year increase of 20% to 25%, while Windows laptop shipments are expected to decline by more than 10% year-on-year. Additionally, Kuo stated that Apple is leveraging the turmoil in the memory market to increase its market share, further reinforcing his view that the new iPhone models will not see a price hike. He believes that Apple's market share growth will support the expansion of its services business, and when AI on devices explodes, Apple will be the biggest beneficiary.
