At MWC 2026, Shenzhen-based Oukitel unveiled the RG14-P—the world’s first rugged laptop with integrated solar charging capabilities. The laptop is designed with a photovoltaic panel on its lid (A-side), offering extended battery life in off-grid wilderness settings, going beyond what traditional batteries can provide. The RG14-P comes with a 3000mAh main battery and a 5200mAh backup battery, supports 65W fast charging, and features a 14.1-inch touchscreen. It runs on Windows 11 and offers an optional built-in camping light for added convenience in outdoor scenarios.
Previously, tech giants like Samsung and Lenovo had explored similar concepts, but these designs never made it to market due to insufficient power generation efficiency. With the launch of Oukitel’s RG14-P, solar technology has now been successfully applied in the rugged laptop sector for the first time.
