According to insiders with knowledge of the situation, Apple Inc. is currently facing hurdles in the realm of artificial intelligence. These challenges are impacting its product roadmap and compelling the company to delay the much-awaited launch of its smart home display device, codenamed J490, until later in the year. Initially slated for a spring 2025 release, the product's debut has been pushed back to finalize the development of the updated iteration of the Siri digital assistant. Given that Siri plays a pivotal role in the device's user interface, this step is deemed crucial. The device, which bears a resemblance to a square-shaped iPad, can be either mounted on a speaker base or affixed to a wall bracket. It is designed to serve as the central AI control center within homes. Apple anticipates that the new version of Siri will be fully developed by September of this year, at which juncture the product will be officially launched.
