On March 6th, the Civil Aviation Administration of China released a notice outlining regulations concerning the network-based operational identification of civil unmanned aircraft systems. According to the notice, information will be collected and processed via the Unmanned Aircraft System Operation Management Platform (UOM). From May 1st, 2026, onward, all manufacturers of civil drones are mandated to equip their products with operational identification transmission capabilities that adhere to the GB46750-2025 standard. This operational identification information will be automatically and continuously sent from the drones to the UOM, with no option to disable this function. For drones already sold, manufacturers are responsible for upgrading them to meet these new requirements.
