In early March, Apple unveiled its spring lineup of new products, with the much-anticipated budget-friendly version of the MacBook taking center stage. According to insider Mark Gurman, Apple has pinned high hopes on this product, believing it will entice a substantial number of Windows and Chromebook users to make the switch to the macOS ecosystem. Simultaneously, it aims to encourage iPhone users without a computer to make their inaugural purchase. This budget-conscious MacBook is projected to be priced between $599 and $799, with the Chinese version potentially dipping below the 4,000 yuan mark, specifically targeting the student demographic and light office users. It boasts the same A18 Pro chip as the iPhone 16 Pro, delivering performance on par with the first-generation M1 chip. The device features a 12.9-inch LCD screen, 8GB of memory, a standard USB-C port, and comes in a variety of color options to suit different tastes. Furthermore, Apple has plans to roll out a slew of new products, including the iPhone 17e, an entry-level, budget-friendly MacBook, the M5 Pro/Max MacBook Pro, the M5 MacBook Air, the A18 iPad 12, the M4 iPad Air, and the M5 Max/Ultra Mac Studio.
