According to a report from Jiemian News, commencing in March 2026, the Chinese mobile phone market is expected to experience its inaugural across-the-board price hike, encompassing all categories and brands. The price increments for new models will initiate at a baseline of 1,000 yuan, with older models from prominent brands such as OPPO, vivo, Xiaomi, and Honor also set to undergo successive price escalations. Market research institutions forecast that the average price of new mobile phone models will surge by 15%—25% year-on-year post-March. Industry experts highlight that this round of price increases is predominantly propelled by the relentless rise in the cost of components, particularly memory.
