The electric quadcopter drone built by a South African engineer father-son duo recently set a new unofficial record with a speed of 661 km/h, surpassing their previous official record of 657.59 km/h. Developed by Australian engineer Benjamin Biggs, the drone features a 14S power supply system and a "pusher" configuration, with motors spinning at 34,000 RPM. Although not yet certified by Guinness, its technological breakthrough has garnered global attention. Previously, South African father-son duo Luke Bell and Mike Bell had broken similar records three times, with their latest achievement of 657.59 km/h set in December 2025.
