Insta360 recently released the final ruling of the U.S. 337 investigation, which saw the U.S. International Trade Commission affirming the initial finding that all six allegations brought forth by GoPro were without merit. The investigation exerted no significant influence on Insta360's manufacturing processes and business operations, enabling Insta360 to maintain unrestricted imports and sales of its current products within the U.S. market. The 337 investigation is designed to scrutinize whether imported goods infringe upon intellectual property rights, with any proven violations resulting in a ban on the relevant products from entering the U.S. market. The final ruling clarified that five patent disputes did not amount to infringement or that the pertinent patent rights were not valid, while an additional design patent was also found not to be infringed upon, as Insta360 had implemented a novel design approach. Liu Jingkang, the founder of Insta360, voiced sentiments of ill intent from the opposing side and disclosed that the expenses incurred in defending against the lawsuit surpassed $10 million. He further underscored that Insta360's remarkable market success could be attributed to its precise product positioning and the competitive edge offered by China's supply chain.
