According to Mark Gurman, Apple is testing a deep red color for the iPhone 18 Pro series, marking the first time a red hue will be used on an iPhone Pro model. This move is made possible by the aluminum alloy unibody construction introduced with the iPhone 17 Pro, which offers greater flexibility in coloring for the Pro series. Previously, the Starry Orange color option for the iPhone 17 Pro was a huge success in the Chinese market, driving Apple's revenue in China up by 38% year-on-year for that quarter. Apple may choose from brown, purple, or burgundy as the signature color for the iPhone 18 Pro. If deep red is selected, it will be Apple's first red iPhone since the iPhone 14 in 2022. Unlike the diverse color options for the iPhone 18 Pro, Apple's first foldable iPhone will adopt a conservative color strategy, offering only basic colors like black and white to streamline production.
