Recently, there have been frequent leaks concerning Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S26 and S27 series smartphones. To address this issue, Samsung has introduced an 'encrypted chat mode' within its internal communication framework, with intentions to roll it out to affiliated companies and partner firms as well. When this mode is enabled, employees are restricted from copying, forwarding, saving chat content, or capturing screenshots, thereby aiming to safeguard internal information from unauthorized disclosure.
Interestingly, the information about this 'encrypted chat mode' itself emerged from an internal leak, and Samsung has yet to issue an official response regarding the matter. Industry experts opine that despite tightening internal system permissions, completely eradicating leaks remains a daunting task, as a substantial portion of information might originate from the supply chain or channel partners. Additionally, system-imposed restrictions on screenshots are ineffective against individuals who choose to photograph the chat screen using another device.
Hence, the ongoing saga of leaks and countermeasures surrounding Galaxy smartphones is expected to persist.
