On February 19, 2026, Dyson introduced a new iteration of its ultra-slim vacuum cleaner, the PencilVac—the PencilWash. This latest offering marks a transition from mere 'vacuuming' to comprehensive 'floor washing', tailored specifically for tackling liquid spills and stubborn stains on hard floors. Similar to the PencilVac that was released nine months prior, the PencilWash consolidates the battery, motor, and electronic components into a slender handle measuring approximately 1.5 inches in diameter. However, its cleaning mechanism has undergone a complete transformation. The PencilWash omits the dust cup, instead incorporating a water tank within an enlarged cleaning head and featuring a single floor scrubbing brush. When devoid of water and low-foam cleaning solution, the PencilWash tips the scales at 4.9 pounds (around 2.2 kilograms), slightly surpassing the weight of the PencilVac. Nevertheless, it comes at a more affordable price point, retailing for just $349 (approximately RMB 2,413), and includes a handle charging dock. The PencilWash is engineered specifically for hard floor surfaces such as tile, laminate, and sealed solid wood. It employs a pressurized water dispensing system to channel clean water to a high-density microfiber brush, which effectively scrubs and retrieves dirty water. While the floor may not be entirely dry post-cleaning, the residual moisture dissipates swiftly. In contrast to Dyson's bulkier floor washers, the PencilWash's handle can recline nearly flat, facilitating effortless cleaning beneath furniture. The runtime on a full charge is anticipated to exceed 30 minutes, aligning with the lowest power setting of the PencilVac. Should the battery deplete, the battery at the handle's terminus can be swapped out for a separately purchased spare battery.
