On February 17, Apple released the first developer betas of macOS Tahoe 26.4 and iPadOS 26.4. The Mac now incorporates the same battery charging limit feature as the iPhone, allowing users to freely set a charging upper limit between 80% and 100% via a slider to prevent battery overcharging and aging. Meanwhile, Safari browser has reinstated support for the compact tab bar layout, enabling users to switch between standalone or compact tab bar modes in system settings to enhance webpage display space on small-screen devices. Both updates are expected to be officially rolled out in spring.
