On the morning of February 13, Long Zhiyu, the Chairman of Sichuan Low-Altitude Economic Industry Development Co., Ltd., stepped aboard one of the company’s eVTOLs (Electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing aircraft) and initiated takeoff from the ‘Zhifei Center’ in Chengdu’s Jinjiang District. The aircraft hovered steadily at an altitude of 80 meters for 10 minutes before executing a safe landing. This historic flight represents the inaugural manned eVTOL verification mission within Chengdu’s main urban area, affirming its practicality across various contexts—including urban commuting and cultural tourism experiences. Additionally, it laid the groundwork for a standardized, full-chain operational framework.
