Mozilla has made an announcement that the desktop edition of the Firefox browser, version 148, which is slated for release on February 24, will introduce a brand-new 'AI Control' panel. This panel empowers users to customize their AI-related experiences. Considering the diverse attitudes that users hold towards AI, this panel enables them to manage generative AI features according to their specific needs. The pivotal function of this panel is the 'Block AI-Enhanced Features' toggle. Once this toggle is activated, it will deactivate all generative AI features and prevent related pop-ups and promotional content from appearing. Moreover, these settings will continue to be in effect even after browser updates. For those users who are eager to delve into the world of AI, the panel also provides a modular management approach. This allows users to selectively enable or disable five individual features. At present, the 'AI Control' feature has initially been rolled out in the Firefox Nightly beta version.
