Apple's inaugural foldable smartphone, the iPhone Fold (with an internal codename of V68), is advancing according to schedule and is anticipated to hit the market in the autumn of 2026. This device is considered one of Apple's most intricate smartphone projects thus far. Based on a leak from blogger Shana Digital, the volume buttons of the iPhone Fold will deviate from the conventional arrangement. Instead of being located on the left side of the device, they will be placed at the top right. This design will mirror the top-button layout of the iPad mini. Meanwhile, the power button (which incorporates Touch ID) and the newly introduced AI camera button will stay on the right side of the device. This reconfiguration is a result of Apple's thorough optimization of the internal architecture. The mainboard is positioned on the right side of the device. By eliminating physical buttons on the left side, more space is freed up for a larger-capacity battery and an enhanced screen structure, potentially making it the 'iPhone with the largest battery capacity to date.'
