On January 29, 36Kr reported that ByteDance is set to launch the official version project of the Doubao Mobile Assistant by the end of 2025. The new device is projected to hit the market in the mid-to-late second quarter of 2026. Citing sources from the supply chain, the report highlighted that ByteDance has set notably higher expectations for this upcoming device compared to those for the first-generation test version. Regarding the collaboration model, the second-generation Doubao Mobile will maintain its partnership with ZTE Nubia. In this arrangement, ZTE will handle the hardware aspects, while Doubao will focus on the AI components. ByteDance has not issued a response to this information as of now.
