According to research conducted by Omdia, global shipments of smartphone AMOLED panels are projected to reach 810 million units in 2026, showing a decrease from the 817 million units recorded in 2025. This downturn will mark the first decline following three years of consecutive growth. The main factor driving this decline is the scarcity of memory supply coupled with a sharp rise in prices. As a result, smartphone manufacturers are compelled to scale back their procurement plans for 2026. Given the pressure from escalating memory prices, AMOLED panels have emerged as a significant cost factor that manufacturers are now adjusting.
