Ni Fei, who serves as the President of ZTE's Terminal Business Division and also holds the position at Nubia Technology Co., Ltd., shared his views on Weibo concerning the hashtag #Rumored 20th Anniversary iPhone Not Having True Full-Screen#. He pointed out that there are whispers in the tech sphere suggesting Apple will unveil a phone boasting a true full-screen design with an under-display camera. However, he emphasized that ZTE has already been at the forefront of this technology, having commercially deployed it since 2020.

He detailed the journey of under-display camera technology within ZTE's ecosystem, noting that from the ZTE Axon 20 to the Nubia Z80 Ultra, the technology has undergone seven significant iterations. These iterations have tackled key challenges, such as integrating under-display 3D structured light, striking a balance between screen display quality and front camera performance. The culmination of these efforts is seen in the Z80 Ultra, which achieves a near-flawless full-screen display. In this model, the front camera is virtually imperceptible, yet it still meets the demands of most daily photography scenarios.
