According to a report from Omdia, the total number of smartphone shipments in the Indian market hit 154.2 million units in 2025, marking a 1% year-on-year decline. Among these, Vivo (excluding iQOO) emerged as the leader, shipping 32.1 million units and securing a 21% market share. Following Vivo were Samsung, OPPO (excluding OnePlus), Xiaomi, and Apple. In the fourth quarter of 2025, Vivo maintained its leading position, while OPPO overtook Xiaomi to secure the third spot. The agency’s analysis revealed that escalating memory prices and the depreciation of the rupee led some brands to revise their official minimum selling prices. Looking ahead to 2026, Chinese brands are poised to enter the market for “flagship killer” models, while the premium market segment above INR 60,000 is expected to be dominated by Apple, Samsung, and Vivo.
