Today, Sony and TCL signed a memorandum of intent to establish a joint venture company to take over Sony's home entertainment business. TCL will hold a 51% stake, while Sony will hold a 49% stake. The joint venture will conduct integrated business operations for products such as televisions and home audio systems on a global scale. Both parties expect to complete negotiations on the final agreement by the end of March 2026 and, upon fulfillment of relevant conditions, commence operations of the new company in April 2027. The new company will leverage the strengths of both parties and empower its products through the 'Sony' and 'BRAVIA' brands. It aims to create new value for global users and achieve business growth amid the ongoing expansion of the global large-screen TV market, with support from Sony and TCL.
