On January 12, the Lihong No.1 spacecraft accomplished a suborbital flight test with remarkable success at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center. The retrievable payload module of the spacecraft made a smooth landing and was subsequently retrieved. This particular test represents the inaugural 100 - kilometer suborbital parachute - recovery experiment within China's commercial aerospace industry. The spacecraft soared to a maximum flight altitude of roughly 120 kilometers, coming extremely close to the boundary of space.
