The U.S. Department of Commerce has retracted its plan to curb the import of Chinese drones, citing national security concerns, after the proposal did not receive the green light from the White House. Nevertheless, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) persists in its ban on Chinese drones, forbidding the sale of new foreign-made drone models within the United States. Chinese drones hold a substantial share of the U.S. commercial drone market, and any constraints on their core systems would, in essence, prohibit their use.
