At CES 2026, startup Hapware made a splash by launching its innovative medical assistive smart wristband, Aleye. This product has been meticulously crafted with accessibility in mind and is designed to seamlessly integrate with Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses. Aleye boasts an impressive ability to decipher others' facial expressions and non-verbal cues, offering doctors invaluable insights into their patients' emotional well-being.
Sporting a somewhat bulky yet functional design, Aleye communicates with users through a variety of distinct vibration patterns. Leveraging the advanced computer vision capabilities of the connected smart glasses, it captures images and transmits them to a dedicated companion app. This app, in turn, employs sophisticated algorithms to accurately recognize facial expressions and movements.
Early trials have shown that users can quickly become proficient in interpreting the basic vibration patterns, often mastering them within just a few minutes. For an added layer of convenience, the app can enlist the help of Meta AI to deliver voice prompts. However, it's worth noting that this feature may occasionally serve as a distraction.
Currently, Aleye is available for pre-order. The wristband itself is priced at $359 when purchased individually. Alternatively, customers can opt for a bundled package that includes the wristband and a one-year subscription to the app for $637. It's important to highlight that the app subscription is a mandatory requirement, and the product does not come with the smart glasses.
