On December 6, Doubao Mobile Assistant released a statement to refute a false rumor that had been circulating online. The rumor claimed that "Doubao Mobile Assistant can directly access bank card balances and bypass authentication to obtain user information."
Doubao Mobile Assistant clarified that it merely aids users in querying their bank card balances, but only does so upon explicit user request and authorization. For sensitive operations, it mandates manual confirmation from the user. Furthermore, during any user-authorized operation, there exists no system permission that allows for bypassing authentication measures, such as passwords or facial recognition. To query a bank card balance, users are still required to manually complete verification steps, including real-person verification and password input, as mandated by the bank's application.
