On November 26, Counterpoint Research's latest analysis revealed that driven by strong sales of its new iPhone series and consumers' demand for upgrading their devices, Apple is poised to reclaim its position as the world's largest smartphone manufacturer after more than a decade. Researchers noted that the new models have attracted a significant number of users to upgrade, driving double-digit year-on-year sales growth for Apple in both the Chinese and U.S. markets. Counterpoint data indicates that this growth is expected to propel Apple past its long-time rival, Samsung Electronics, this year. For 2025, iPhone shipments are projected to grow by approximately 10%, while Samsung's growth is estimated at 4.6%. Overall, the global smartphone market is expected to expand by around 3.3% in 2025, with Apple projected to capture a 19.4% market share, marking its first return to the top global sales position since 2011.
