On November 21, Omdia released its latest data, revealing that in the third quarter of 2025, the Middle East smartphone market (excluding Turkey) experienced a remarkable rebound. Shipments soared to 15.1 million units, marking a substantial 23% increase compared to the same period the previous year. This surge was predominantly fueled by a spike in demand from the general consumer base. Consumers were increasingly ditching their older or entry-level phones in favor of more robust mid-range 4G smartphones and budget-friendly 5G models. Major smartphone manufacturers capitalized on this trend by introducing cost-effective product lineups and ramping up their efforts in emerging markets to reap the benefits of this growth.
Among the various factors driving this expansion, affordable 4G smartphones emerged as the primary contributor to the rise in shipments.
