Recently, the Zhejiang branches of China Mobile Communications Group, operating in cities like Hangzhou, Wenzhou, Ningbo, and Jinhua, have made official announcements regarding the systematic and orderly retirement of the 2G network. According to the announcement, China Mobile's 4G and 5G networks have successfully established comprehensive coverage throughout both urban and rural regions of Zhejiang Province. In an effort to streamline resources and elevate the quality of services offered, the company will proceed with the gradual decommissioning of the 2G network. The specific shutdown process will be carried out in a phased manner, taking into account the unique conditions of each region. Consequently, devices, tariff packages, and SIM cards that are exclusively compatible with the 2G network will become obsolete. Users are thus encouraged to promptly upgrade their devices or switch to alternative tariff plans to ensure uninterrupted service.
