On November 11, IDC released its most recent report, which disclosed that in the third quarter of 2025, the shipment volume of foldable smartphones in China's market soared to 2.63 million units. This figure represents a substantial 17.8% year-on-year growth, clearly signaling a robust recovery in the market. When looking at the cumulative shipments for the first three quarters of the year, the total reached 7.62 million units, showing a 14.3% increase compared to the same period in the previous year. It is also anticipated that the full-year shipments will come close to hitting the 10 million unit mark.

In terms of market share, Huawei takes the lead, holding close to a 70% share. Following Huawei, Honor and vivo occupy the second and third positions respectively. The driving force behind this transformation of foldable smartphones from a "niche novelty" to a "mainstream staple" lies in technological maturity. The innovative form factors of these devices are successfully drawing in a growing number of consumers.
