After Dolby Laboratories released the Dolby Vision 2 standard, Samsung announced its latest High Dynamic Range (HDR) format—HDR10+ Advanced, marking a significant upgrade in Samsung's HDR technology. HDR10+ Advanced brings six major functional enhancements, including a wider brightness range, content type-based tone mapping, intelligent motion smoothing options, a cloud gaming mode, more local tone mapping regions, and more advanced and accurate color performance, aiming to directly challenge Dolby's new-generation HDR system. This format is planned to make its debut on Samsung's high-end TV product lines in 2026.
