According to the most recent research conducted by TrendForce, close to a hundred companies across the globe have formulated plans to establish solid-state battery production capacity, with the total planned capacity soaring past several hundred GWh. Spurred by the escalating demand for high energy density and exceptional reliability in diverse sectors, including electric vehicles, stationary energy storage systems, consumer electronics, humanoid robots, eVTOL/UAM (electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing/Urban Air Mobility), and various industrial applications, the institution anticipates that the global market demand for solid-state batteries (inclusive of semi-solid variants) will surpass 206GWh by 2030. Furthermore, it is projected to expand significantly, reaching over 740GWh by 2035, heralding the advent of solid-state batteries into a large-scale application era.
